What better way for students learn about God’s love for them than through His love letter… the Bible. Students journey through the Old and New Testaments to learn the whole story of the Bible while exploring key characters and events. They will also learn about their Identity in Christ, the Names of God, and Who God is through reading, drawing, creating, and Scripture memorization.
Students will cultivate an appreciation of language as a gift from God. Students will develop elementary skills in the area of reading, writing, listening and speaking through individual and collaborative assignments. They will develop a foundation knowledge of English grammar and mechanics. They will learn to use their words to encourage and serve others. Students will explore, analyze, evaluate texts in a variety of genres from a biblical worldview with a hope of them enjoying all types of literature so they will become lifelong readers.
Students develop number sense through hands-on learning that sets the foundation for a lifetime of math skills. Students will progress in their learning of number sense, place value, measurement, addition, subtraction, geometry, multiplication, division and more! They will also explore biblical worldview themes as they use math to solve real problems.
Students will develop social studies skills and a foundational understanding of geography, economics, history, government, and culture. They will also learn to evaluate sources, cultures, and events from a biblical worldview.
Weekly music classes provide students with an opportunity to express their creative sides while developing music literacy, cultural relevance, and critical evaluation of music. Students learn to read, write, and perform music using various instruments and vocal techniques, while also exploring music’s role across cultures and time periods. They participate in hands-on experiences. Active listening and analysis help to build a strong musical foundation.
Art class helps us to see how we are made in the image of the Master Artist, Elohim - God our Creator. It provides a framework for developing students' artistic skills and appreciation of art. Students learn to observe and interpret the world around them, express ideas through various art media, and explore the history and diversity of visual arts. Students also reflect on their own work and the work of others, fostering both creativity and critical thinking.
